Baldwin five-for before the rain at Broadhalfpenny Down

Scott Baldwin took 5-43 to restrict the Brigands to 154-9, but rain ended play with LNZCC 57-0.

It was a warm summer Sunday morning in Hampshire for the BHP Brigands match.

As per custom, a wonderful lunch was had prior to the match at the Bat & Ball.

Brigands won the toss and elected to bat first. Solid call given the forecast for rain after 4pm.

Scott Baldwin and Leith Cowie opened up the bowling and had the Brigands opening batsmen back in the sheds early. Scott finished with 5/43 (from 12 overs and Leith finished with figures of 4/1 (from 5 overs).

Wicket of the day was a caught and bowled by a slightly worse for wear Vaughan Robertson who, miraculously stuck out his left hand after bowling a rank full toss that was swatted toward the long off boundary at a great rate of knots! Finishing with figures of 2/31.

when Brigands declared at 154/9 at 40 overs, leaving LNZ a calculated 33 overs to chase.

Promising start with the bat from openers Cheyne Voss and Adam Khanbhai. finding the boundary with relative ease, the rain set in spoiling the parade. The match abandoned with the score at 57/0 off 10 overs, both Voss and Khanbhai 27* each.

Well deserved Man of the match was Scott Baldwin for his 5 wickets.
